H0 Go-Ahead Norge El 18 2260, DCC Sound

After testing two SBB Re 460 locomotives in 1994, the Norwegian State Railways (NSB) ordered a total of 22 El 18 locomotives starting in 1996. Aside from several modifications for the harsh Norwegian climate, the locomotives are largely identical to the BLS Re 465 class. Although designed as universal locomotives, the El 18s were used primarily for passenger services. Today, many have been replaced by multiple units, but they remain indispensable for overnight trains. Go-Ahead Norge currently operates three of these locomotives on long-distance trains along the Oslo-Stavanger route (Sørlandsbanen). This detailed model from Roco features numerous separately applied parts and comes equipped with a sound decoder for digital operation.
